Description

Group Residency at SSW is a highly subsidised residency that focuses on bringing together artists from a wide variety of disciplines to develop their own practices within our welcoming workshops and studio. Over the month we programme a series of inductions and intros to our facilities including ceramics, metal fabrication, blacksmithing and stonework, coupled with social spaces including sauna, artists sharings, film nights, walks and shared meals.

Description

This call for applications offers a residency and an art-science commission for a period of one and a half months between March and mid-July 2026, as part of the ERC research project “Emergence of Wild Differentiable Dynamics,” led by Pierre Berger at the Institute of Mathematics, Jussieu – Paris Rive Gauche (Sorbonne University, CNRS).

The selected artist or collective will be asked to produce a work based on wild mathematical dynamics. The work may be a film, an image, or a digital installation. It must be part of an art-science approach, combining mathematical rigor and sensitivity, resulting from exchanges with the scientific members of the project.

This residency open call is for an early-career artist based in Pakistan. The eleven-week, fully funded residency will take place at Gasworks in London from 7 July – 22 September 2026.

Our residencies programme supports professional development, cultural exchange, and artistic experimentation. We host up to twenty residencies each year, bringing artists from all over the world to London. All our residencies are self-led, non-prescriptive and process-based; they are about enabling artists to research and develop new work, engage with the city, and build their networks.
