Description

For each program, we select a group up to 10 international and local artists, curators and researchers. The group shares working spaces and participates in a number of activities as each one immerse in new or ongoing projects.

During the program public presentations are organized and the residency culminates in an open studio which is an integral part of our program of exhibitions. The exhibition is open to the public for the last days of the residency, during which special visits and presentations are coordinated.

Description

Casa na Ilha is a retreat space to devote time and focus to your creative pursuits in an ecological paradise. Artists can intensely dedicate on their work in progress or develop new projects. The main goal is that artists are able to focus on their ideas and projects, enhancing creativity and inspiration and connect, between them, the local community and nature.

Casa na Ilha welcomes artists with a professional standing in their field and emerging artists of promising talent.

The Residency Program is 2 to 4 weeks long duration between 5 - 8 artists at a time. In case projects requires it, participants may apply for a longer period.

Description

Visiting residencies are intended for established artists from outside of Vancouver and provide a new environment and stimuli for artists to expand their artistic practices. To maximize the potential for artistic growth, an exhibition might be an outcome of a residency, but it is not a requirement. Artists are encouraged to apply for additional funding from their local/provincial/national arts funding bodies.

Description

Research that proposes cross-disciplinary strategies to collect information, read or produce work or artistic experiment. IFP also opens up for research in disciplines other than the arts that can provide the contemporary arts with new insights, modes of thinking and/or research strategies. Residency proposals for China show a link with the local context without being limited to it.

Supported projects are provided with local assistance and a studio to work. Money for travel, production and per diem needs to be raised by the artist in collaboration with IFP.
